For all the readers of this blog, I apologize for not posting the updates soon.I finally managed to do it in 3:15 It was an amazing experience. I really enjoyed the whole program. All the volunteers, coaches, mentors did a fantastic job. Everyone selflessly volunteering and truly dedicated! I feel proud to be associated with team ASHA :)
Thanks to all the coaches and mentors and fellow Asha runners! All the little hints and tips given helped us complete our dreams.
I never ran even a mile. As most of my friends know, I used to run *away* from sports making some or the other reason ;) :) I never thought I would run even a mile in my life. But I took up the challenge since it had a good appeal.
However small the contribution may be, today I feel very good to have done something to help the poor kids in India.
And last but not the least, a very big thanks to all the wonderful donors. There are so many wonderful people out there willing to give and help out these kids back in India. I feel that we runners are a bridge to get that money to these underpriviledged kids. Thanks for all your support!
Inspired by seeing all this, one of my friends -- Vijay ran the Seattle half marathon last sunday. Hats off to him, he didn't lose his determination despite the harsh weather. The course was a challenge but the weather made it tough too. I would encourage as many people who are interested in donating to please support him. Here is his runners web page -- http://www.ashanet.org/seattle/events/marathon/profile_head.php?vijay
